THE NOVELETTE LINE began back in 2010 when Fairwood decided to put out an affordable version of Jay Lake's The Specific Gravity of Grief, which was originally a limited, signed and numbered hardcover. After Jay's death, with the limited edition no longer available, it made sense to put this wonderful story out in a smaller format.
Soon thereafter, Patrick's Slightly Ruby, a prequel novelette to his novel The Ultra Thin Man, seemed a perfect match to this size of paperback
Books in this line will be in a 4 x 7 inch trim size paperback, with matte lamination, and retail for $10 or less. As a rough guesstimate, these stories or mini-collections will range from 9,500 to 17,000 words. Some signed/numbered limited versions of these might also be for sale at a higher price.

Expect to see more novelettes or novelette-sized works in this convenient "gift" size very soon!
